In Spring Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEAFEAG CHCHBIBIADJADJ

THE young birds shy twitterA
In hedges and bowersB
Fields brighten and glitterA
With dewdrops and flowersB
Over flood over fallowC
Impelled by old yearningD
The nest building swallowC
Exults at returningD
For dark days and hoaryE
Are routed and overA
Dark Winter is goneF
Resplendent in gloryE
The earth meets her loverA
Her bridegroom the SunG
-
Must I alone sorrowC
Despairingly languishH
Breaks never a morrowC
On the night of my anguishH
The jubilant gladnessB
In bird beam and blossomI
But deepens the sadnessB
That weighs on my bosomI
Oh Spring in whose azureA
Wake follow the starlingD
The daisy the doveJ
Sweet spendthrift of pleasureA
Brings also my darlingD
Oh bring me my loveJ
