Hope Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDCDDC

All treasures of the earth and opulent seasA
Metals and odorous woods and cunning goldB
Fowls of the air and furry beasts untoldB
Vineyards and harvest fields and fruitful treesA
Nature gave unto Man and last her keysA
Vouched passage to her secret ways of oldB
Whence knowledge should be wrung nay power to mouldB
Out of the rough his occult destiniesA
-
But tired of these he craved a wider scopeC
Then fair as Pallas from the brain of JoveD
From his deep wish there sprang full armed to copeC
With all life's ills even very death in loveD
The only thing man never wearies ofD
His own creation visionary HopeC
