Deep In A Yew-sequestered Grove Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBC DEED FGGF HIIH EJJE

Deep in a yew sequestered groveA
I sat and wept my heart awayB
A child came by at close of dayB
With eyes as sweet as new born loveC
-
He came from sun bleached meadows whereD
High on the hedge the topmost roseE
Curtsies to every wind that blowsE
A wanton of the summer airD
-
The sunset aureoled his browF
Kindling the roses in his handG
And by my side I saw him standG
To offer me his rose red boughF
-
Take back thy gift I sighed forlornH
And showed where like the yew's red seedI
My blood had trickled bead on beadI
From wounds made by his cruel thornH
-
He smiled and said Nay take my RoseE
You know when all is said and doneJ
There's not a joy beneath the sunJ
Worth lovers' joys but lovers' woesE
