April Rain Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBAC DEDEEDD FEFEEFF

The April rain the April rainA
Comes slanting down in fitful showersB
Then from the furrow shoots the grainA
And banks are fledged with nestling flowersB
And in grey shaw and woodland bowersB
The cuckoo through the April rainA
Calls once againC
-
The April sun the April sunD
Glints through the rain in fitful splendourE
And in grey shaw and woodland dunD
The little leaves spring forth and tenderE
Their infant hands yet weak and slenderE
For warmth towards the April sunD
One after oneD
-
And between shower and shine hath birthF
The rainbow's evanescent gloryE
Heaven's light that breaks on mists of earthF
Frail symbol of our human storyE
It flowers through showers where looming hoaryE
The rain clouds flash with April mirthF
Like Life on earthF
