Analkh Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDCDDC

Like a great rock which looming o'er the deepA
Casts his eternal shadow on the strandsB
And veiled in cloud inexorably standsB
While vaulting round his adamantine steepA
Embattled breakers clamorously leapA
Sun garlanded and hope uplifted bandsB
But soon with waters shattered in the sandsB
Slowly recoiling back to ocean creepA
-
So sternly dost thou tower above us FateC
For still our eager hearts exultant beatD
Borne in the hurrying tide of life elateC
And dashing break against thy marble feetD
But would Hope's rainbow aureole round us fleetD
Without these hurtling shocks of man's estateC
