A White Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC DEDEFF GAGAHH

THE land lay deluged by the MoonA
The molten silver of the lakeB
Shimmered in many a broad lagoonA
Between grey isles whose copse and brakeB
Lay folded on the water's breastC
Like halcyons in a floating nestC
-
And like a child who trusts in GodD
When in the dark it lies aloneE
Stretched on the aromatic sodD
My heart was laid against your ownE
Against your heart which seemed to beF
Mine own to all EternityF
-
Lapped in illimitable lightG
The woods and waters seemed to swoonA
And clouds like angels winged the nightG
And slipped away into the MoonA
Lost in that radiant flame aboveH
As we were lapped and lost in loveH
