A Symbol Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDDCDC

Hurrying for ever in their restless flightA
The generations of earth's teeming wombB
Rise into being and lapse into the tombB
Like transient bubbles sparkling in the lightA
They sink in quick succession out of sightA
Into the thick insuperable gloomB
Our futile lives in flashing by illumeB
Lightning which mocks the darkness of the nightA
-
Nay but consider though we change and dieC
If men must pass shall Man not still remainD
As the unnumbered drops of summer rainD
Whose changing particles unchanged on highC
Fixed in perpetual motion yet maintainD
The mystic bow emblazoned on the skyC
