A Child's Fancy Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCC DDEE FFGG HHII JJBA

Hush hush Speak softly Mother dearA
So that the daisies may not hearB
For when the stars begin to peepC
The pretty daisies go to sleepC
-
See Mother round us on the lawnD
With soft white lashes closely drawnD
They've shut their eyes so golden gayE
That looked up through the long long dayE
-
But now they're tired of all the funF
Of bees and birds of wind and sunF
Playing their game at hide and seekG
Then very softly let us speakG
-
A myriad stars above the childH
Looked down from heaven and sweetly smiledH
But not a star in all the skiesI
Beamed on him with his Mother's eyesI
-
She stroked his curly chestnut headJ
And whispering very softly saidJ
I'd quite forgotten they might hearB
Thank you for that reminder dearA
