To Mrs. Mary Caesar Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EBEB BBBB AFAF

I read in your delighted FaceA
The Nuptial Bands are ty'dB
From me congratulate her GraceA
Young Portland's lovely BrideB
-
Tell her an humble artless MuseC
Would hail the happy PairD
But that like Flow'rs by deadly DewsC
Her Strains are damp'd by CareD
-
Those whom the tuneful Nine inspireE
Have now a spacious FieldB
To them I must resign the LyreE
To none in Wishes yieldB
-
May Prudence still the Fair attendB
Who with distinguish'd TasteB
In Caesar early chose a FriendB
With ev'ry Virtue grac'dB
-
Who back a thousand Years may traceA
And her Descent maintainF
From Ademar's illustrious RaceA
Ally'd to CharlemainF
