The Reverend Dr. L---. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCC DEFFGG

In vain you shew a happy NationA
The Gospel's gracious DispensationA
And plead from thence to bring up YouthB
To early Piety and TruthB
To unattentive Ears you preachC
What Miseries alone can teachC
-
'Tis said Hibernia boasts a FloodD
Famous for petrefying WoodE
Tunbridge thy Min'ral Streams we knowF
A stranger Transformation showF
Their dire Effects the Wretched feelG
Thy Waters turn the Heart to SteelG
