An Hymn To Sleep. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDBBEFGGHH

Written when the Author was sickA
Somnus pow'rful DeityB
Mortals owe their Bliss to theeB
How long shall I thy Absence mournC
And when be bless'd in thy ReturnD
Relentless God why will you fleeB
And take Delight to torture meB
Or do you kindly flight my Pray'rE
To make me for my Change prepareF
'Tis well this Happiness remainsG
When you resuse to ease our PainsG
Your Brother Death your Place suppliesH
And kindly seals the Wretch's EyesH
