The Avid Poetess Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABB BCDBB BBBAA BAECB

A writer describes herself as an avid poetessA
She told a poet that some of his compositions are not poemsA
According to her they are short storiesA
If she is an avid poetess she should know more about poetryB
Perhaps she has her own definition of poetryB
-
Any form of writing or speech can be poetryB
It depends on how you read a compositionC
A poem should be read with rhythm and styleD
It seems that the poetess has not heard about conscious poetryB
In Jamaica we invented dub poetryB
-
Let us talk about story poems and songs that tell a storyB
Most if not all poems tell a storyB
Many songs of various genres also tell a storyB
Some singers turn poems into songsA
So all writings can be regarded as storiesA
-
Authors do not need rules for writing poetryB
We do not have to follow the opinions of traditionalistsA
Every author has his or her own style of writingE
Who decides how poetry should be writtenC
The bottom line is nobody has the right to make rules for poetryB
