We Fought For - South Of The Walls Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDEFGHIJKLMNOPQQRHI

Died for North of the Ramparts to an old tuneA
-
We fought for Mulberry SpringsB
Die now for Garlic RiverC
Wash our swords in Parthian SeasD
Feed our mounts on T ien Shan snowsE
Thousands of miles to and froF
The Three Armies tired and oldG
These Huns kill instead of ploughingH
Sow white bones in desert sandI
Ch in built the Great WallJ
Han keeps the bright beaconsK
These fires never dieL
These wars never endM
Hand to hand we fight and failN
Horses screaming to the skiesO
Kites and crows pick at our fleshP
Perch on dead trees with our deadQ
We paint the grasses redQ
Because our General had a planR
The sword I say s an evil thingH
A wise man keeps it from his handI
