The Moon At The Fortified Pass Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFBGHIJK

The bright moon lifts from the Mountain of HeavenA
In an infinite haze of cloud and seaB
And the wind that has come a thousand milesC
Beats at the Jade Pass battlementsD
China marches its men down Baideng RoadE
While Tartar troops peer across blue waters of the bayF
And since not one battle famous in historyB
Sent all its fighters back againG
The soldiers turn round looking toward the borderH
And think of home with wistful eyesI
And of those tonight in the upper chambersJ
Who toss and sigh and cannot restK
