Today, In Class, Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDDEFFGHH

Today in classA
I read aloud to forty little boysB
The legend of King Croesus' boasted joysB
They were so youngC
Restless and eager I believed they'd findD
This moral story little to their mindD
But they were pleasedE
With the old legend quick to comprehendF
Sorrowful wisdom's triumph at the endF
They seemed to feelG
In hush of wonder hurry of amazeH
The sure uncertainty of all men's daysH
