Wings Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GAGA

Was it worth while to forego our wingsA
To gain these dextrous handsB
Truly they fashion us wonderful thingsA
As the fancy of man demandsB
-
But to fly to sail through the lucid airC
From crest to violet crestD
Of these great grey mountains quartz veined and bareC
Where the white clouds gather and restD
-
Even to flutter from flower to flowerE
To skim the tops of the treesF
In the roseate light of a sun setting hourE
To drift on a sea going breezeF
-
Ay the hands have marvellous skillG
To create us curious thingsA
Baubles playthings weapons to killG
But I would we had chosen wingsA
