To The Unattainable Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAA BABA CDCD

Oh that my blood were water thou athirstA
And thou and I in some far Desert landA
How would I shed it gladly if but firstA
It touched thy lips before it reached the sandA
-
Once Ah the Gods were good to me I threwB
Myself upon a poison snake that creptA
Where my Beloved a lesser love we knewB
Than this which now consumes me wholly sleptA
-
But thou Alas what can I do for theeC
By Fate and thine own beauty set aboveD
The need of all or any aid from meC
Too high for service as too far for loveD
