Mahomed Akram's Appeal To The Stars Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Oh Silver Stars that shine on what I loveA
Touch the soft hair and sparkle in the eyesB
Send from your calm serenity aboveA
Sleep to whom sleepless here despairing liesB
-
Broken forlorn upon the Desert sandC
That sucks these tears and utterly abasedC
Looking across the lonely level landC
With thoughts more desolate than any wasteC
-
Planets that shine on what I so adoreD
Now thrown the hour is late in careless restC
Protect that sleep which I may watch no moreD
I the cast out dismissed and dispossessedC
-
Far in the hillside camp in slumber liesB
What my worn eyes worship but never seeE
Happier Stars your myriad silver eyesB
Feast on the quiet face denied to meE
-
Loved with a love beyond all words or senseF
Lost with a grief beyond the saltest tearG
So lovely so removed remote and henceF
So doubly and so desperately dearH
-
Stars from your skies so purple and so calmI
That through the centuries your secrets keepJ
Send to this worn out brain some Occult BalmI
Send me for many nights so sleepless sleepJ
-
And ere the sunshine of the Desert jarsK
My sense with sorrow and another dayC
Through your soft Magic oh my Silver StarsK
Turn sleep to Death in some mysterious wayC
