Out I came from the dancing placeA
The night wind met me face to faceA

A wind off the harbour cold and keenB
I know it whistled where thou hast beenC

A faint voice fell from the stars aboveD
Thou whom we lighted to shrines of LoveD

I found when I reached my lonely roomE
A faint sweet scent in the unlit gloomE

And this was the worst of all to bearF
For someone had left while lilac thereF
-
The flower you loved in times that wereG
