Signs Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFG HIJCK LMNHOPQJRMST UVMI RWXMYR

All night I dreamed of my homeA
of the roads that are so longB
and straight they die in the middleC
among the spines of elderly weedsD
on either side among the dead catsE
the ants who are all eyes the suitcaseF
thrown open sprouting failuresG
-
-
-
And this evening in the gardenH
I find the winterI
inside a snail shell rigid andJ
cool a little stubborn templeC
its one visitor goneK
-
-
-
If there were messages or signsL
I might hear now a voice tell meM
to walk forever to askN
the mold for pardon and oneH
by one I would hear out my sinsO
hear they are not important that I amP
part of this rainQ
drumming its long fingers andJ
of the roadside stone refusingR
to blink and of the coyoteM
nailed to the fence with itsS
long grinT
-
-
And when there are no messagesU
the dead lie stillV
their hands crossed so strangelyM
like knives and forks after supperI
-
-
-
I stay up late listeningR
My feet tap the floorW
they begin a tiny danceX
which will outlive meM
They turn away from this poemY
It is almost SpringR
