Rhyme Scheme: AB BC DEF BBG AHC IJI

At evening watches the duckA
slow feeding the waterlineB
-
Praises the duck Such a fineB
white miracle breasting the mayflyC
-
Green of her tail feathersD
space of her neck doubled in waterE
paddles off with my mindF
-
Ducks I have knownB
Old duck mates of mineB
inspecting the meeting of air and liquidG
-
Make no mistake duckA
I'd like to eat you well cookedH
one bell battered Sunday in AprilC
-
And I'd wear your gorgeous feathers in my hatI
make a soup of the bonesJ
and give your leftovers to the catI
