Elephant-Racing.
Let's go elephant-racing this year!
Hatrub and Harumba have grown for centuries with us
They do not dig caves for salt and lime but blow to arouse the village's numb torso!
Let's go elephant-racing this year across the deserts of the Niger
Let's saddle them our many loads of casks, flasks, food bags and baskets
Let's ride on elephants today
Maybe it will make us think slower
And dare us to make room for what
Was nought of our plans. . .
Ahmoudu, do not forget to carry
Nose-masks
Remember we are to race in the desert
And the little little fonderay cause us to
Cough for such a time as make us reason
To abandon our adventure.
Run. Run. Run.
Elephant-racing, Ahmoudu
Calms the nerve
And makes the heart
Grow fonder
Elephant Racing
