The Moon Shines In My Body Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAC AB CDEC FG HIJKL

The moon shines in my bodyA
but my blind eyes cannot see itB
The moon is within meA
and so is the sunC
-
The unstruck drum of Eternity is sounded within meA
but my deaf ears cannot hear itB
-
So long as man clamours for the 'I' and the 'Mine'C
his works are as naughtD
When all love of the 'I' and the 'Mine' is deadE
then the work of the Lord is doneC
-
For work has no other aim than the getting of knowledgeF
When that comes then work is put awayG
-
The flower blooms for the fruitH
when the fruit comes the flower withersI
The musk is in the deerJ
but it seeks it not within itselfK
it wanders in quest of grassL
