A desert life, lonely it may seem
A long journey awaits
But aimless you feel
With no clear path to take
And no certain direction to follow
The wayfarer's heart gets dismayed
Feel the tormenting heat during the day
And the cold dark evenings
Wait for another traveler to pass by
Hope that they're not in haste
Because they too shall leave
For a certain reason, you know
They have their own journey
As you have your own
Wait again, this time for rain
But how cannot one drop of rain satisfy your thirst?
And not even a crumb of bread you brought
Could satisfy your hunger?
There is but One who could satisfy your soul
One that hears your heart's deepest longings
One that's with you all along
Oh didn't you notice?
Were you blinded by sands?
Or were you too in haste to get out?
Pause and you shall feel
Neither the devouring heat nor chill
But the One's very presence amidst everything
Only then, you'll realize
He's the path and direction you've been seeking
Now, trust and walk with Him.
