Winter Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GCGC

When winter chills your aged bonesA
As by the fire you sit and nodB
You'll hear a passing wind that moansA
And think of one beneath the sodB
-
You'll feebly sleek your hair of greyC
And mutter words that none may knowD
And dream you touch the sodden clayC
That laps the dream of long agoD
-
The shrinking ash may fall apartE
And show a gleam that lingers yetF
A moment in your cooling heartE
May shine a sparkle of regretF
-
And where the pit is chill and deepG
And bones are mouldering in the clayC
A thrill of buried love will creepG
And shudder aimlessly awayC
