The Touch Of Time Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDBCDB

Time who with soft pale ashes veils the brandA
Of many a hope that flared against the skyB
To plant its heaven storming banners highB
Has touched you with no desecrating handA
Your beauty wins a ripeness sweet and blandA
As opulent summer and your glancing eyeB
Glows with a deeper lustre and your sighB
Of love is still my clamouring heart's commandA
-
Yet what if all your fairness were defacedC
Wilted by passionate whirlwinds battle scarredD
Your skin of delicate satin hard and dryB
Still you would be the laughing girl who gracedC
A gloomy manhood by forebodings marredD
In the deep wood where still we love to lieB
