The Carillon Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACC DEEDFF GHHGII JKKLMM

AloneA
I sit in the dusk and seeB
Surely the living faces dear to meB
Of comrades who have thrownA
All that they had the fruit of all desireC
Upon an altar fireC
-
They heardD
Above all clamour of the crowdE
The music of their own hearts throbbing loudE
Until the air was stirredD
Into a summoning harmony and soF
We saw them rise and goF
-
The soundG
That love set ringing in those yearsH
Of agony exultation voiceless fearsH
And hopes now undergroundG
Shall not be silenced it is thrilling yetI
And we shall not forgetI
-
But clearJ
The mellow tone of mingled notesK
Triumph and sorrow made one spirit floatsK
To my prophetic earL
That is their music echoing echoing stillM
From our remembering hillM
