Disillusion Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDF

When fires have burnt your forest bare and blackA
And you are parched and dizzy and search in vainB
For pools in dust unvisited of rainB
And shamble lost along a shimmering trackA
This is the comfort of the world AlackA
So youth s illusions die that we may gainB
Wisdom and strength to face our lifelong painB
The truth from which no man shall turn him backA
Falter for no such melancholy liesC
For by one holy touch the spirit is healedD
To know its treasure of sight and sound and scentE
Veil after veil the earthborn fogs ariseC
Star beyond star the heavens are then revealedD
And truth is fair in love s enlightenmentF
