Anzac Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGAAHHII JJ

Within my heart I hear the cryA
Of loves that suffer souls that dieA
And you may have no praise from meB
For warfare's vast vulgarityB
Only the flag of love unfurledC
For peace above a weeping worldC
I follow though the fiery breathD
Of murder shrivel me in deathD
Yet here I stand and bow my headE
To those whom other banners ledE
Because within their hearts the clangF
Of Freedom's summoning trumpets rangF
Because they welcomed grisly painG
And laughed at prudence mocked at gainG
With noble hope and courage highA
And taught our manhood how to dieA
Praise praise and love be theirs who cameH
From that red hell of stench and flameH
Staggering bloody sick but stillI
Strong with indomitable willI
Happy because in gloomiest nightJ
Their own hearts drummed them to the fightJ
