An emotion that cannot be expressed
Lingering in hearts and souls of distress
A hand closes doors to the outer space
Opening windows in the inner place
Rejoice, to the gleaming days of light
Devoice, in the boundless and empty night
Breathe, on tomorrows as they will unwind
Grieve, for there exists no shelter to find
Some lost, squandering the brilliance of life
Some suffer, dancing with booze, pills, and knife
Some obsessed, consuming its last feeble mind
Some indifferent, feeling bleak, black, and blind
O solitude, long have I dwelled with thee
In silence, waves crest in my bitter sea
But let tide wash away the cold chagrin
Let it be the last solace deep within
On Solitude
