Too Late Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBADDA AEBEAFGA AHIHAJJA AKELAMMA

How should I knowA
That day when first we metB
I Would be a dayC
I never can forgetB
And yet 'tis soA
That clasp of hands that made my heartstrings thrillD
Would not die out but keeps vibrating stillD
How should I knowA
-
How should I knowA
That those bright eyes of thineE
Would haunt me yetB
And through Grief's dark cloud shineE
With that same glowA
That thy sweet smile so full of trust and loveF
Should beaming still a priceless solace proveG
How should I knowA
-
How should I knowA
That one so good and fairH
Would condescendI
To spare a thought or careH
For one so lowA
I dared not hope such bliss could be in storeJ
How dare I who had known no love beforeJ
How should I knowA
-
But now I knowA
Too late alas the prizeK
Can ne'er be mineE
Yet do I hug the painL
And bless the blowA
Knowing I love and am loved in returnM
Is bliss undying whilst Life's lamp shall burnM
Yes now I knowA
