Ther's Much Expected. Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CBCB DEDE FEFE GHGH IBIB JHJH KHKH LMNM DEDE

Life's pathway is full o' deep rutsA
An we mun tak gooid heed lest we stumbleB
Man is made up of ifs and of butsA
It seems pairt ov his natur to grumbleB
-
But if we'd all anxiously takC
To makkin things smooth as we're ableB
Ther'd be monny a better clooath'd backC
An' monny a better spread tableB
-
It's a sad state o' things when a manD
Cannot put ony faith in his brotherE
An fancies he'll chait if he canD
An rejoice ovver th' fall ov anotherE
-
An it's sad when yo see some at standF
High in social position an powerE
To know at ther fortuns wor plann'dF
An built aght oth' wrecks o' those lowerE
-
It's sad to see luxury rifeG
An fortuns being thowtlessly wastedH
While others are wearin out lifeG
With the furst drops o' pleasure untastedH
-
Some in carriages rollin awayI
To a ball or a rout or a revelB
But ther chariots may bear em some dayI
Varry near to the gates ov the devilB
-
Oh charity surely is rareJ
Or ther'd net be soa monny neglectedH
For ther's lots wi enuff an' to spareJ
An from them varry mich is expectedH
-
An tho' in this world they've ther fillK
Of its pleasures an wilfully blindedH
Let deeath come an surely it willK
They'll be then ov ther duties remindedH
-
An when called on they tremblin wi fearL
Say The hungry an nak'd we ne'er knewM
That sentence shall fall o' ther earN
Depart from me I never knew youM
-
Then oh let us do what we canD
Nor with this world's goods play the miserE
If it's wise to lend money to manD
To lend to the Lord must be wiserE
