The Four Roses Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHIH

Four sisters sitting in one houseA
I said these roses on a stemB
With bosoms bare But wayfaringC
I went and ravished one of themB
-
-
So one was taken But the threeD
They spread their petals just the sameE
They turned no decent pale for griefF
They drew no fragrance back for shameE
-
-
The canker is on roses tooG
I cried and lifted up the rodH
And scourged them bleeding to the groundI
All all are sinners unto GodH
