Adieu! Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABCCCB DDDEAAAE DDDFGGGF HHHDGGGD

Adieu my love adieuA
Be constant and be trueA
As the daisies gemmed with dewA
Bonny maidB
The cows their thirst were slakingC
Trees the playful winds were shakingC
Sweet songs the birds were makingC
In the shadeB
-
The moss upon the treeD
Was as green as green could beD
The clover on the leaD
Ruddy glowedE
Leaves were silver with the dewA
Where the tall sowthistles grewA
And I bade the maid adieuA
On the roadE
-
Then I took myself to seaD
While the little chiming beeD
Sung his ballad on the leaD
Humming sweetF
And the red winged butterflyG
Was sailing through the skyG
Skimming up and bouncing byG
Near my feetF
-
I left the little birdsH
And sweet lowing of the herdsH
And couldn't find out wordsH
Do you seeD
To say to them good byeG
Where the yellow cups do lieG
So heaving a deep sighG
Took to seaD
