Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCAADDDDDDEEDD| When from the opening chambers of the east | A |
| The morning springs in thousand liveries drest | A |
| The early larks their morning tribute pay | B |
| And in shrill notes salute the blooming day | B |
| Refreshed fields with pearly dew do shine | C |
| And tender blades therewith their tops incline | C |
| Their painted leaves the unblown flowers expand | A |
| And with their odorous breath perfume the land | A |
| The crowing cock and chattering hen awakes | D |
| Dull sleepy clowns who know the morning breaks | D |
| The herd his plaid around his shoulders throws | D |
| Grasps his dear crook calls on his dog and goes | D |
| Around the fold he walks with careful pace | D |
| And fallen clods sets in their wonted place | D |
| Then opes the door unfolds his fleecy care | E |
| And gladly sees them crop their morning fare | E |
| Down upon easy moss he lays | D |
| And sings some charming shepherdess's praise | D |
