The Morning In The Country Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCAADDDDDDEEDD

When from the opening chambers of the eastA
The morning springs in thousand liveries drestA
The early larks their morning tribute payB
And in shrill notes salute the blooming dayB
Refreshed fields with pearly dew do shineC
And tender blades therewith their tops inclineC
Their painted leaves the unblown flowers expandA
And with their odorous breath perfume the landA
The crowing cock and chattering hen awakesD
Dull sleepy clowns who know the morning breaksD
The herd his plaid around his shoulders throwsD
Grasps his dear crook calls on his dog and goesD
Around the fold he walks with careful paceD
And fallen clods sets in their wonted placeD
Then opes the door unfolds his fleecy careE
And gladly sees them crop their morning fareE
Down upon easy moss he laysD
And sings some charming shepherdess's praiseD
