On The Death Of A Particular Friend Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD

As those we love decay we die in partA
String after string is sever'd from the heartA
Till loosen'd life at last but breathing clayB
Without one pang is glad to fall awayB
-
Unhappy he who latest feels the blowC
Whose eyes have wept o'er every friend laid lowC
Dragg'd ling'ring on from partial death to deathD
Till dying all he can resign is breathD
