Evening In Autumn Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJKHLAMNOPQR S

The western sun withdrawn the shorten'd dayA
And humid evening gliding o'er the skyB
In her chill progress to the ground condensedC
The vapours throws Where creeping waters oozeD
Where marshes stagnate and where rivers windE
Cluster the rolling fogs and swim alongF
The dusky mantled lawn Meanwhile the moonG
Full orb'd and breaking through the scatter'd cloudsH
Shews her broad visage in the crimson eastI
Turn'd to the sun direct her spotted diskJ
Where mountains rise umbrageous dales descendK
And caverns deep as optic tube descriesH
A smaller earth gives us his blaze againL
Void of its flame and sheds a softer dayA
Now through the passing cloud she seems to stoopM
Now up the pure cerulean rides sublimeN
Wide the pale deluge floats and streaming mildO
O'er the skied mountain to the shadowy valeP
While rocks and floods reflect the quivering gleamQ
The whole air whitens with a boundless tideR
Of silver radiance trembling round the worldS
