A Song Of Sighing Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC ADADEE FGFGHH ABABCCB

Would some little joy to dayA
Visit us heartB
Could it but a moment stayA
Then departB
With the flutter of its wingsC
Stirring sense of brighter thingsC
-
Like a butterfly astrayA
In a dark roomD
Telling Outside there is dayA
Sweet flowers bloomD
Birds are singing trees are greenE
Runnels ripple silver sheenE
-
Heart we now have been so longF
Sad without changeG
Shut in deep from shine and songF
Nor can rangeG
It would do us good to knowH
That the world is not all woeH
-
Would some little joy to dayA
Visit us heartB
Could it but a moment stayA
Then departB
With the luster of its wingsC
Lighting dreams of happy thingsC
O sad my heartB
