Peace Restored Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CDCD EFEF GHGI

You virgins that did late despairA
To keep your wealth from cruel menB
Tie up in silk your careless hairA
Soft peace is come againB
-
Now lovers' eyes may gently shootC
A flame that will not killD
The drum was angry but the luteC
Shall whisper what you willD
-
Sing Io Io for his sakeE
That hath restored your drooping headsF
With choice of sweetest flowers makeE
A garden where he treadsF
-
Whilst we whole groves of laurel bringG
A petty triumph for his browH
Who is the master of our springG
And all the bloom we oweI
