Cease warring thoughts and let his brainB
No more discord entertainB
But be smooth and calm againC
-
Ye crystal rivers that are nighD
As your streams are passing byD
Teach your murmurs harmonyE
-
Ye winds that wait upon the springF
And perfumes to flowers do bringF
Let your amorous whispers hereG
Breathe soft music to his earG
-
Ye warbling nightingales repairH
From every wood to charm this airH
And with the wonders of your breastI
Each striving to excel the restI
When it is time to wake him close your partsJ
And drop down from the trees with broken heartsJ
