Brave warrior of ancient France | B |
Where danger was he did advance | B |

And on the battle field did fall | C |
They dug for him a shallow grave | D |
And slightly cover'd warrior brave | D |
- | |
But his servant man with warm heart | E |
Loathed with his master thus to part | E |
So he moved soil from where he lay | F |
And found a lump of lifeless clay | F |
- | |
He turned away in sad despair | G |
That could not be his master fair | G |
That famed brave youth of noble birth | H |
Now all stained o'er with blood and earth | H |
- | |
As he begins to move away | F |
The moon reflects on brilliant ray | F |
From diamond ring on dead man's finger | I |
The servant now doth fondly linger | I |

For he knows it's his master's ring | A |
And hopes to life he may him bring | A |
In finger he discovers heat | J |

Though surgeons they pronounce him dead | K |
For long he bathes his breast and head | K |
And slowly master did restore | L |
To fight more brave than he had before | L |

And now this tale to close we bring | A |
Of warrior saved by a ring | A |
Full oft again to fight for king | A |
His praise his countrymen they sing | A |
