Survival Of The Fittest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCCC DDEE FFGG GGHH IIJJ

Now let the hero of our songA
Be he who gentle treats the throngA
And would not cruel treat anotherB
But to each be as to a brotherB
-
And he must have both sense and witC
And be possessed of strength and gritC
Then strong as proof of holy writC
For to survive he is most fitC
-
And according to our testD
The fittest only is the bestD
These have a right for to surviveE
And well they do deserve to thriveE
-
And this kind of evolutionF
It will bring no revolutionF
But revolve in Christian sphereG
Where scripture truths are prized and dearG
-
Give us the man doth persevereG
And presses on in his careerG
Undaunted struggling for the rightH
Though all mankind 'gainst him uniteH
-
Though now on top of highest mountI
Where he has found true honour's fountI
Yet those below he don't despiseJ
But strives to aid them for to riseJ
