Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EFGH IIJK CCEF DDEF LLMM NFOO PFQQ R

A sailor he was swept from deckA
In minute he seem'd as a speckA
Tossing on each briny waveB
They feared the sea would be his graveB
-
Though they full quickly launched the boatC
They could not see where he did floatC
He now was a long ways asternD
His whereabouts they could not learnD
-
But while he on the waves did tossE
He was seized by great AlbatrossF
Who had been looking round in questG
Of something whereon it could rest IH
-
It hover'd o'er him with its wingsI
And its great webb feet on him clingsI
And it tore him with its sharp beakJ
For it was longing for some steakK
-
But sailor seized it by the throatC
And found with ease he then could floatC
So sailor's life was saved by lossE
Of the life of the AlbatrossF
-
The boat's crew found him none too soonD
For he had fallen into a swoonD
Him they would not have come acrossE
Had they not seen the AlbatrossF
-
And thus poor Jack his life was savedL
For fierce rage of bird he bravedL
Though in a faint he still did clingM
One arm round neck and one round wingM
-
For as a friend he did hug closeN
That fine large bird the AlbatrossF
Sailors row comrade back to shipO
Where he relates his wondrous tripO
-
Sailors fear that many a cross JP
Will fall on crew kill AlbatrossF
This was slain in self defenceQ
And so no harm it came from thenceQ
-
The lone Albatross incumbent on the airR
