Our ancient custom to renewB
We meet to honor St AndrewB
He was of the Jewish nationC
A fisherman by occupationC
No warlike knight with lance and swordD
But humbly following his LordD
And Scotia she justly claimsE
Her soil contains his last remainsF
In early times the Pilgrims drewB
Into the shrine of St AndrewB
For miracles it gained renownG
And thence sprang up St Andrew's townG
Now clansmen twine round maple leafH
When rallying at the call of chiefH
And time will come when we'll be oneC
And proud of name CanadianC
But Scotia must not be forgotI
For sake of Chalmers Burns and ScottI
But here upon Canadian soilJ
A man may own where he doth toilJ
For here each may enjoy the charmK
Of owning fine prairie farmK

Entwining of the thistle around the maple tree Scotia's sons have indented their names deep in Canadian history The names of McDonald McKenzie Cameron and Mowat stand conspicuous and Brown second to none For wealth enterprise and benevolence those Montreal Scotsmen stand high Sir Donald A Smith Sir George Stephens and Duncan McIntyreL
