Salford Parsonage Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: A BCDDEEFG HHIIJJKK LLHHHHMMNNOOPPHQ

Lines delivered at housewarming of Salford ParsonageA
-
Your pastor's fame first got abroadB
By his success on Culloden RoadC
He filled the church so that the foldD
No longer it the flock would holdD
But soon a larger church did riseE
With fine neat tower points to the skiesE
When you o'erwhelmed with ruin direF
Did lose your parsonage by fireG
-
To his call with generous bountyH
You built best parsonage in countyH
But some good people in the townI
At this idea they might frownI
Unless we made this correctionJ
The best in a rural sectionJ
Your pastor he doth vigorous pushK
He's not afraid to enter bushK
-
And 'tis a fact there's very fewL
With him can stick of timber hewL
Ready for to superintendH
Or a helping hand to lendH
When bold man's wanted at the frontH
You've but to call on Reverend HuntH
In pulpit he conviction dartsM
And points the way to troubled heartsM
But solemn thoughts we won't employN
As this is all a scene of joyN
Maids and matrons all charmingO
Do grace this pleasant house warmingO
Here people come from near and farP
To purchase goods at this bazarP
And all is happiness and gleeH
At festival of this soireeQ
