Reply To The Toast Of Scottish Poets Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGHH

Burns sang so sweet behind the plowA
Daisies we'll wreath around his browA
Musing on thee what visions throngB
Of floods you poured of Scottish songB
Scott he did write romancing rhymesC
Of chivalry of ancient timesC
For tender feeling none can copeD
With Campbell the sweet Bard of hopeD
Eye with sympathetic tear inE
Will shed it for Exile of ErinE
And Tannahill while at his loomF
Wove flowers of song will ever bloomF
Hogg Ettrick Shepherd did gain fameG
By singing when the kye comes hameG
With good time coming Bard McKayH
Still merrily doth cheer the wayH
