On the shores of the northern lakesA
An infant giant now awakesA
He has long time been in a dreamB
But now is roused by engine's screamB

For mighty spirits are abroadC
Traversing of each great railroadD
For it is a glorious themeB
The peaceful conquest made by steamB

But should the foot of invader vileE
Ever desecrate his soilF
He firm will meet him bold and braveG
And give him soil Canadian graveG
