Ode On The Mammoth Cheese Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAAA BBBB AAAA CDCD AAAA EEEE

We have seen the Queen of cheeseA
Laying quietly at your easeA
Gently fanned by evening breezeA
Thy fair form no flies dare seizeA
-
All gaily dressed soon you'll goB
To the great Provincial ShowB
To be admired by many a beauB
In the city of TorontoB
-
Cows numerous as a swarm of beesA
Or as the leaves upon the treesA
It did require to make thee pleaseA
And stand unrivalled Queen of CheeseA
-
May you not receive a scar asC
We have heard that Mr HarrisD
Intends to send you off as far asC
The great World's show at ParisD
-
Of the youth beware of theseA
For some of them might rudely squeezeA
And bite your cheek then songs or gleesA
We could not sing o' Queen of CheeseA
-
We'rt thou suspended from baloonE
You'd cast a shade even at noonE
Folks would think it was the moonE
About to fall and crush them soonE
