Rhyme Scheme: AB CCDDEEFFGGHHIIJJKDLL MN

We fancy the lustre of the old town is reflectedA
on the new English Woodstock was a royal residenceB
-
English Woodstock had a PalaceC
Where the Queen in jealous maliceC
Slew romance's fairest flowerD
Fair Rosamond in secret bowerD
Our Woodstock pleasant county townE
This brings it both wealth and renownE
To your strong castle some are sentF
For to give them leisure to repentF
And the Reeves will in their bountyG
Build court house worthy of the countyG
A charming vista you do viewH
Gazing on each street and AvenueH
Mansions and lawns embowered 'mong treesI
Where wealthy owners live at easeI
And through the air there sweetly floatsJ
Harmonious Woodstock organ notesJ
And men employment secureK
In Factory for FurnitureD
And the pacing of your horsesL
It is famed o'er many coursesL
Old Oxford was a seat of knowledgeM
Woodstock it hath a fine CollegeN
