Lines On The North Of Scotland Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AB CCDD EEFF GGHI JJKK

Lines on the North of Scotland delivered in Embro nearly aA
quarter of a century agoB
-
Scotsmen have wandered far and wideC
From Moray Frith to Frith of ClydeC
McDonald from his sea girt isleD
And Campbell from his broad ArgyleD
-
But chiefly here you have come forthE
From those countries of the northE
Some oft have trod Dunrobins's HallsF
And gazed upon its stately wallsF
-
Here to night in this arrayG
Is Murray McKenzie and McKayG
And there doth around us standH
The Munroe Ross and SutherlandI
-
Your young men have high honour earnedJ
In all of the professions learnedJ
Your Bonnie Lasses sung in songK
And youths are famed for muscle strongK
